What are the possible remnants of supernovae?
protostars or nebulae
neutron stars or black holes
white dwarfs or protostars
black dwarfs or white dwarfs
Supernovae occur during the last stellar evolutionary stages of a star's life, either a massive star or a white dwarf, whose destruction is marked by one final, titanic explosion. Supernovae may expel much, if not all, of the material away from a star. However, if the explosion is weak enough, the star may collapse into a black hole or neutron star with little radiated energy.
